Let The Good Times Roll
-
This Thing Called Global Warming? Yeah, It's Catching On
by Nat.
I used to see a wonderful world,
A beautiful place for me and you,
Plants, animals, people, places,
Cloudy skies and sunny days too.
No more can I see this world,
I think to myself it's not the same,
Pollution, corruption, destruction,
The pain on my skin feels like butane.
I can't smell the fresh morning dew,
Nor the sweet cold smells of the night,
The air is toxic and filled with cyanide,
The terrible stench I can't fight.
What I would sacrifice to have it all back,
The wonders that the earth now lack,
In half my heart has tore,
As I can no longer recognise my home any more.

Oh How I Adore Them
From the left, Bob Bryar, Mikey Way, Gerard Way, Ray Toro, and Frank Iero.
These five guys used to mean the world to me. As a band, their lyrics inspired me to do and learn a lot of things, like Ray inspired me to play the guitar, or Gerard with his song writing, or Mikey and his love for cats... random, yes, but, I have to say that I learnt a lot from these boys. Or, well, not boys. They're in their late twenties and early thirties... but that don't matter!
These guys fought so hard in life, through family problems, personal problems, relationship problems, all obstacles and hardships, but in the end they came out strong. Gerard even has a daughter now. She's almost five months old.
They made my life worthwhile. At least before I came to SU.
Now, my inspiration comes from the ones I see and greet every day, every week. Those are my real heroes. But, all in all? My Chemical Romance, one of the greatest, most inspiring bands ever.
Thanks, guys.

Of Stories And Folders And Band Pics
I need a new folder. The clip keeps coming off mine. All my papers are inside.
Oh how I love Googling pictures of band members. Haha. Mikey Way is so adorable in glasses. <3

Sharing Is Caring
There were about 200 odd students from all different schools there at Acts Church that morning. Wow. My first time to a church in about eight years. And it was really cool.
Mr Jacob picked me up at nine thirty. Stephanie and Jonathan and Clovey were already in the car. We came late because of the traffic near Jonathan's house *coughcoughnearLickHung*. When we got there, we got Revo notebook and pens! Ain't that something.
And out of the blue, Pastor Andy comes up and asks, "You're Natasha, right? You're going up on stage later to share that testimony you posted on the website." And I was, "Oh, okay." Unexpected.
WE HAD 15 MINUTES RECESS AHAHA. Nasi lemak and coffee. Chan Tong hands me someone's jacket and says it's for 'safety purposes' when we go up on stage later. Eh. OOH, OOH, and I got two more RR badges and RR stickers. STICKERS! Got one badge for Jonathan and one for Stephanie.
And I did go up and share, and the first thing I noticed was, 'Woah, nice microphone'. Haha, then I answered some of Pr. Andy's questions. Chan Tong was right beside me. He wearing this white jacket. Pr. Andy said, "Wahh, Chan Tong got nice jacket eh." People chuckled.
And then, when Pr. Andy asked what Form I was, I held up one finger. He said, "Form One!" and people, like, cheered. Wow. They actually clapped eh. It felt cool. I felt the teensiest bit important, like I was actually making a change. And I guess I am. Leading our Form One RR team has been a valuable experience.
But what struck me was the fact that a standard six girl from Lick Hung had enough courage to go and start RR in her school. And she came today. Wow. She's tiny! But she's still very capable of leading her team of 10. Great work, Mun Cheng.
I guess I'll sign of here. Oh wait.
MY GUITAR EXAMS ARE ON THE 28 OF AUGUST AAAAAAAAAAAAA

An Aon Of Leaders
Might I mention another Happy Birthday to both Jeremy Ong and Nikki Claire? Hope you two had a good day. Jeremy, enjoy the card. Nikki, thanks for the cake. You two rock.
Ohya. We, the Form Ones, did Recess Revolution this afternoon. We cleaned the school hall. Oh yes. It was a really coordinated affair, with much gratititude to Daniel Chin (our leader for that week) and Clovey Lye (last week's leader hehe) for working together with the rest of the team.
AN AMAZING 19 PEOPLE+ HELPED!!! OH YEAHHH!!!
And, I am sooooo proud of everyone who sacrificed their only free period of the day just to clean the hall and just bless the school and the students. Guys, thank you all so much.
And the prefects were mighty surprised when they saw us cleaning up for them. The Biro Perhimpunan is supposed to be in charge of cleaning the hall, so he was really grateful. I tell you, I was really surprised myself when I saw some people bringing in their friends to help. Although three others couldn't make it, we still had enough hands to do a good job within the 20 minutes of recess time.
Daniel, you did a good job this week. You handled being the leader really well, and planned everything out smoothly (with me and Cloves's help of coursee) and I'm proud of you. Really, I am.
LET THE RECESS REVOLUTION MOVE FORWARD!
Oh, and I'd like to send a shout out to the Lick Hung students who have started Recess Revolution in a school of oppression. You guys are so brave, and I hope that every other school that isn't involved yet just follows your example of showing up, standing up, and speaking up for a cause. Great job.
CF is tomorrow. I can't wait, actually. I kinda really love to serve on the technical team. Shia, Vi June and Choy are awesome bosses, and Daniel is an awesome team member. Oh, and Joyce said I'm the emcee for tomorrow. You know, the one who goes up on the stage and announces things into a microphone?
*silently explodes with joy and rockets into screen*
Okay. That's it for now. Ciao.

Too Much, Too Little, Too Early?
What is it that has brought on this latest poetry drag? I thought my muse had somewhat ran away with my sixth sense of instrument recognisation, which I miss dearly. I used to be able to tell what instruments were playing in any song imaginable, but the sense has departed with my muse since last week. I hope they return soon. Or maybe my muse wil run off and drag ol' sixer back.
Yes, my imagination runs wild at times. Anywayyyys, here's another poem to keep me going.
Still Hoping
by Nat.
It's the marble of the floor
That makes it all the worse
I see your face in the tiles
Frowning all the more
It's the screaming and the begging
That makes you want to stop
Then the rage takes over
By then I'm still not crying
It's the torn pages across the room
That makes me want to sob
You couldn't wait to see me hurt
Not later, but now, and soon
It's the lack of faith you had
That made me open my eyes
There's someone watching over this house
Now it doesn't seem so bad
It's all the ones who made me believe
That I could still be saved
I'm still hoping for a change
On this last Christmas Eve.
Have a good school week guys.

We Still Carry Through The Years
It's Time To Live And Let Go
by Nat
Something worth fighting for
Doesn’t always have to be right
In these cases your side of the truth
May not be all that might.
Carry out a soldier’s duty
Across the navy platoon
When are you coming home?
She’s hoping it’ll be soon.
Faith is strewn through your soul
Never will it come to pass
But one day will it waver?
Nothing usually ever lasts.
But one truth of the fire
You seem to still remember
Oh you dirty little liar
Just tell your story’s proof.
And we shall blast your name
In graffiti on the walls
And twenty-one guns sound off
Twenty, nineteen, eighteen
Seventeen, sixteen, fifteen
Fourteen, thirteen, twelve,
Eleven, ten, nine, eight,
Seven, six, five, four
Three, two, one.
I hear the cavalry coming.
Was it too late?
So I Wonder Why It Is
by Nat.
First thing I see
At nine in the morning
It hurts my eyes
To see you smiling
So bright
How is it you manage to fit
A full day's work
Into seven hours with two ten minute breaks
I'd rather lurk
In the corner by the lamp
And watch you stamp
That pice of paper
Sixteen times over
With that quirky pout
And that flat-out
Bespectacled look on your face
I feel amused often
By the space that shall continue
To win you
Over
Oh take a break you
Daily expeditor
And pour yourself a drink
Go wash off the ink
From writing nonstop
About patient complaints and restraints
On little telly sets
That were stolen from the top bunk
With Bunkface
Playing on the stereo in a corner
You look almost like a mourner
You tired thing oh you
That's what happens
When you wake up everyday
To say "Hey Hey"
And drive off to work
With my coffee in your hand
And a little rubber band
Holding up your hair
Out of your face
Well that's what happens
When I see you in the morning
Good night.
It Still Takes My Breath Away
And I say, wow. The bible is truly a book of miracles. And, going for the 13th National Bible Knowledge Quiz this morning really opened my eyes towards reading the bible. As the CO of Methodist College, Miss Moey, said this morning in her speech, the bible is a roadmap for our lives. And it is the way to acheiving true success in life. Just flipping through the pages, one can see the many wonderous things God did for his people, the Israelites, and just his power over all the land. And the way He tore down the enemy nations who were opposing the Israelites. Even through his prophets, the Lord spoke of many more things to come. And how good is the Lord for sending his only son for us.
I hear Shermaine has finished reading hers? Congratalations to that! =D
Recess Revo is coming along fine. Quite well, actually. I managed another post on the Revo site, so check it out if you have time, oh invisible people who read this.
Cheers.
Nat.
PS. LOL, oh Hsien Sern and Aaron, leaving a sleeping Damien on the canteen table. xD
